About Neverland Connect

A Road to the World

Neverland Connect is a student-led nonprofit organization that connects teens and preteens through English learning, cultural exploration, and youth leadership.

Through our programs, students explore classic stories, discuss history and culture, and learn to express their ideas with confidence. We believe that language is more than a school subject—it is a bridge that helps young people understand one another and see the world from different perspectives.

Our goal is to build a welcoming cross-cultural community where students grow not only as English learners, but also as thoughtful communicators, curious readers, and future leaders.

Our Story

From Conversations to a Cross-Cultural Learning Community

Neverland Connect began in early 2021, when our founder, Waylon Leng, started meeting with younger students online to help them practice English through conversation and cultural learning.

What began as informal one-on-one sessions gradually grew into a student-led learning community. Since then, students have joined from the United States, Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, Canada, France, Vietnam and China. Through discussions, presentations, and programs such as Neverland Classics, Guest Speaker Sessions and Community Events, members explore English, literature, history, and culture while learning from one another across borders.

Today, Neverland Connect continues to build a welcoming space where teens and preteens can strengthen their communication skills, broaden their worldview, and grow as thoughtful young leaders in a connected world.

Our Values

Youth-led

We believe young people learn deeply when they are trusted to lead. At Neverland Connect, teens and preteens help organize programs, lead discussions, share ideas, and support one another as peers. Adults provide guidance, but youth leadership remains at the center of our community.

Community-based

Neverland Connect is built on relationships. We hope students feel that they are part of a welcoming community where they can learn together, ask questions, share experiences, and build friendships across places and backgrounds.

Culture-rooted

We use language, literature, history, and stories as bridges between cultures. Through our programs, students learn to appreciate different perspectives, understand the world more deeply, and communicate with openness and respect.
